Who are you?

I am the owner of Maverick West! I am behind the chair doing cuts and color as well as traveling the Bay Area educating for COLOR.ME by KEVIN MURPHY. I specialize in balayage, especially blondes!

How long have you been in the beauty industry?

Does chopping off all my Barbies’ hair when I was 4 count?! I was first interested in hair and makeup while when I was in high school. I started designing for different theater companies while in college. While very fun, the life of a freelancer was not the life for me. I went to beauty school at the San Francisco institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology in 2009, started behind the chair and have been making moves ever since! The connections I make with people on a daily basis fuel my passion for creating beautiful hair. I celebrate all hair textures and types.

What are you doing when you aren't working?

I am running around with my little family! I have 2 kids and 2 dogs and we love being outdoors taking advantage of the gorgeous scenery the Bay Area has to offer us! I love a good podcast, balancing true crime and feel good shows like Queer Eye and Project Runway. I love discovering new restaurants, .
